You are holding a book on the Czech Coronation Jewels. This incredible testimony of human skills over thousands of years of history is introduced and documented through technology that is only several years old; this detailed viewing would have been impossible just a few years ago. I always regretted that the beauty of goldsmith techniques and precious stones of our most prominent monument has not been adequately made available to the public. The photo documentation was taken in 1998 and 2003 during detailed examinations of the precious stones that I had the honor to participate in. Due to the specific perspective of an enthusiastic admirer, restorer and photographer, I decided to have this book published and made available on this website. The book is complemented with an interactive CD-ROM with over 600 unique photographs and detailed accompanying texts about each object of the coronation set and its history.
